Nexus: Nightmare In Blue #2

Nexus: Nightmare In Blue was a four-part limited series published by Dark Horse Comics in 1994. It serves as a narrative expansion of the original Nexus series, created by Mike Baron and Steve Rude in the early 1980s. This specific arc continues the tradition of blending deep science fiction concepts with psychological inquiry, focusing on the titular character Horatio Hellpop and his struggle with the burden of his cosmic-given abilities.

The artwork for this series remains consistent with the established visual identity of the Nexus franchise, characterized by Steve Rude’s distinct style that blends classic comic aesthetics with a fluid, modern dynamism. Throughout the 1990s, these miniseries were designed to keep the Nexus universe active during a period of transition in the comic book industry, appealing to long-term readers who valued the consistent creative partnership between Baron's dense, sociopolitical writing and Rude's illustrative precision.
