No Matter How I Look At It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular! #26

No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular!, often referred to as Watamote, began serialization in 2011 as a manga series written and illustrated by the artist known as Nico Tanigawa. The series centers on Tomoko Kuroki, a socially anxious high school girl who navigates the complexities of teenage life with often misguided attempts to become popular. Issue 26 represents a specific chapter installment within this long-running narrative, contributing to the series' reputation for blending cringe comedy with surprisingly poignant depictions of isolation.

The character design and visual style are intended to emphasize Tomoko's internal turmoil, utilizing stark expressions and awkward postures to convey her social struggles. When the manga first emerged in the pages of Square Enix's Gangan Online, it garnered significant attention for its darker, more cynical take on the high school life genre compared to its contemporaries. The work has since been noted by critics for its evolving tone, moving from purely episodic humor to a more nuanced exploration of character development and personal growth.
