Noroi no One-Piece #1

Noroi no One-Piece, which translates to The Cursed Dress, is a horror manga series that emerged from the vibrant yet niche market of Japanese supernatural anthology works. Released during a period when urban legend horror and atmospheric manga were gaining traction among younger readers, the first issue functions as the introductory chapter to a series centered on the macabre consequences of an accursed garment, tapping into common Japanese folklore tropes regarding haunted objects.

The series is largely recognized for its stark, high-contrast visual style, which prioritizes psychological unease over explicit gore. While the specific authorship of the series is often cataloged under collective or pen-name credits typical of smaller-run horror imprints, the design intent was to cultivate a sense of dread through claustrophobic paneling and unsettling character expressions. It remains a cult item for collectors of early 2000s psychological horror manga.
