Nukozuke! #5

Nukozuke! is a Japanese manga series created by the artist Hitomi Yano, serialized in the seinen magazine Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh. The series centers on the whimsical premise of human-like creatures known as 'Nukozuke'—small, cat-like entities that resemble common household items—who are adopted by human companions. Issue 5 continues the lighthearted, episodic exploration of the domestic bond between these characters, maintaining the series' reputation for gentle, slice-of-life storytelling that emphasizes themes of companionship and daily comfort.

The aesthetic of the series is defined by Yano's soft, rounded character designs, which are intentionally crafted to evoke a sense of warmth and vulnerability. By stripping away complex narrative tension in favor of quiet, mundane interactions, the work occupies a niche in the iyashikei—or 'healing'—genre. Upon its release, the volume was well-received by fans of the manga for its consistent tone and the charming, creature-design focus that differentiates it from other pet-centric stories in the seinen demographic.
