Where it came from
Palm was a notable literary and arts journal published in Paris during the mid-1920s, a period when the city served as a primary hub for international modernist experimentation. Created by the American poet Sherry Mangan, the journal sought to act as a bridge between diverse avant-garde movements, featuring contributions from writers and artists who were pushing the boundaries of traditional form and structure.
The publication was recognized for its dedication to unconventional aesthetics, often characterized by a minimalist, clean typographical approach that reflected the period's lean toward modernism. Issue #41 continues the journal's legacy of providing a platform for experimental voices, reflecting the editorial commitment to avant-garde discourse that defined Mangan's work and the broader small-press culture of the expatriate community in interwar Paris.
