Peter Parker: Spider-Man #43

Released in June 2002, Peter Parker: Spider-Man #43 is part of the second volume of the long-running series that chronicles the life of Marvel's flagship wall-crawler. This particular issue arrives in the middle of the 'Transformed' story arc, written by Paul Jenkins with illustrative work by Humberto Ramos. Jenkins’ tenure on the series is well-regarded for its psychological depth, often focusing on Peter Parker’s internal monologue and his personal struggles as much as his superhero exploits.

The visual direction of this era was heavily defined by Humberto Ramos, whose exaggerated, kinetic art style became a signature look for the Spider-Man line in the early 2000s. By placing focus on the tension between Peter's civilian life and his responsibilities, the creative team aimed to ground the character in a more modern, introspective context. The issue was received as a standard installment of the ongoing narrative, contributing to the broader mythos established during a period of transition for Marvel editorial.
