Power Rangers Unlimited #1

Power Rangers Unlimited #1 was published by BOOM! Studios in 2021 as the inaugural entry in a series of self-contained one-shot specials. Developed to expand the lore of the established Power Rangers comic universe, the issue was designed to bridge gaps between major story arcs and explore the histories of individual characters, specifically focusing on the origins of the Ranger Slayer, Kimberly Hart.

The issue was written by Ryan Parrott and illustrated by Moises Hidalgo. Parrott sought to ground the Power Rangers mythos in more complex narrative territory, leaning into the character study of Kimberly Hart to provide a deeper emotional context for her role in the wider multiverse saga. Upon its release, the comic was well-received by fans and critics alike for its ability to maintain the high-octane energy of the television franchise while offering the serialized, character-focused depth characteristic of BOOM! Studios' tenure with the brand.
