Power Rangers Unlimited #4

Power Rangers Unlimited #4 was published by BOOM! Studios in 2021 as part of an expanding initiative to explore the deep lore of the Power Rangers universe beyond the primary ongoing comic series. This particular issue, titled 'Edge of Darkness,' was crafted to spotlight the history of the Phantom Ranger, a mysterious character whose origins remained largely unexplored since his debut in the 1990s television series. By providing this standalone narrative, the publishers sought to bridge historical gaps and offer fans a definitive look at the character's clandestine motivations.

The issue was written by Frank Gogol and features interior art by Simone Ragazzoni, who adopted a kinetic, atmospheric style intended to evoke the space-faring mystery of the character's legacy. The design process focused on blending nostalgic elements of the franchise with a more modern, noir-inspired tone that resonated with long-term followers. Upon its release, it was well-received by the comic community for its ability to successfully synthesize decades of fragmented lore into a cohesive, character-driven story that respects the source material.
