Pre-Teen Dirty-Gene Kung-Fu Kangaroos #3

Pre-Teen Dirty-Gene Kung-Fu Kangaroos debuted in 1993 as part of the independent comic book wave that followed the success of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Published by Antarctic Press, the series leaned heavily into the irreverent, high-concept humor common in 1990s small-press comics. The narrative, centered on genetically altered, martial-arts-proficient kangaroos, was conceived by writers and artists who embraced the era's fascination with anthropomorphic action figures and stylized satire.

The series was designed to be a parody of the comic tropes popular at the time, utilizing bold, kinetic linework typical of the small-press aesthetic. While the title is frequently cited by collectors as a quintessential example of the bizarre, late-century 'funny animal' comic niche, its limited print run and experimental tone resulted in a cult status rather than mainstream critical or commercial prominence. It remains a notable curio for those documenting the transition of independent publishers during the 1990s.
