Red Sonja and Vampirella Meet Betty and Veronica #2

Released in 2019, Red Sonja and Vampirella Meet Betty and Veronica #2 is part of a crossover miniseries published by Dynamite Entertainment and Archie Comics. The project was born from the success of previous inter-company crossovers, aiming to blend the high-fantasy and horror tropes of Red Sonja and Vampirella with the quintessential Americana of the Archie Comics universe. This specific issue continues the narrative arc where the four protagonists are forced to navigate the clashing aesthetics and cultures of their respective worlds.

The issue features cover art and interior work characterized by a collaborative effort between the creative teams of both publishers. The artistic approach sought to balance the distinct, gritty visual styles associated with Dynamite's heroines against the established, clean-lined, and iconic character designs of Riverdale's residents. Upon release, the series was received primarily as a novelty project, attracting attention for its juxtaposition of disparate genres and serving as a lighthearted commentary on the evolution of comic book archetypes.
