Robin II: The Joker's Wild! #2

Released in 1991, Robin II: The Joker's Wild! was a five-issue miniseries published by DC Comics featuring Tim Drake in his early tenure as the Boy Wonder. This series arrived during a period where DC sought to solidify the popularity of the third Robin, following his successful debut in A Lonely Place of Dying. The narrative centers on a direct confrontation between the young hero and his predecessor's greatest nemesis, serving as a coming-of-age trial that tested Drake's tactical intellect against the Joker's chaotic malice.

The series was written by Chuck Dixon, who became synonymous with the character of Tim Drake, and illustrated by Tom Lyle. The creative team aimed to portray a more grounded, analytical Robin who relied on gadgets and deductive reasoning rather than mere acrobatics. The cover art, often noted for its bold, foil-enhanced aesthetic typical of early 1990s comic book marketing, helped the series become a commercial success during a peak era of comic collecting and speculative interest.
