Secrets of the Legion of Super-Heroes #2

Secrets of the Legion of Super-Heroes #2 was published by DC Comics in early 1981. This three-issue limited series was developed to provide readers with a comprehensive, cohesive history of the Legion of Super-Heroes, a team whose sprawling lore had become increasingly difficult to track after decades of publication. The project served as a definitive chronicle of the group's origins and their evolution within the 30th-century setting, aiming to consolidate the fragmented timelines established by various writers throughout the Silver and Bronze Ages.

The issue was illustrated by Keith Giffen, a pivotal figure in Legion history known for his distinct, dynamic aesthetic. Giffen worked alongside writer Paul Levitz, who was instrumental in refining the character depth and interpersonal drama of the team. The series was well-received by fans and critics of the era, who appreciated the effort to streamline the Legion's dense mythology. Its design and narrative structure set a precedent for later, more modern efforts to organize the continuity of complex comic book universes.
