See You There, Beyond the Ocean #1

See You There, Beyond the Ocean #1 is a seminal entry in the modern manhua landscape, originating from the broader narrative universe created by the author and artist known as Bus. The series emerged during a period of significant growth for Chinese web-comics, aiming to blend lyrical, atmospheric storytelling with distinct, melancholic visual sensibilities. It is widely recognized for its painterly aesthetic, which departs from the high-octane action typical of the genre in favor of introspective character studies and surreal, oceanic motifs.

The design and artistic direction were spearheaded by Bus, who utilized a soft, watercolor-inspired palette to establish the series' signature dreamlike quality. Upon its release, the work was received with critical acclaim for its narrative depth and technical artistry, often cited as a bridge between traditional literary illustration and contemporary digital comics. It continues to be regarded by collectors as a foundational piece of the series' aesthetic identity, defining the visual language that would carry through subsequent installments.
