Sengoku Komachi Kurōtan #15

Sengoku Komachi Kurōtan, or Sengoku Komachi: Military Food Record, originated as a light novel series written by Kyōichi Izumi before being adapted into a manga illustrated by Warau Yakkai. The series blends the historical Sengoku period with a modern protagonist who uses agricultural knowledge to reshape the logistics of Oda Nobunaga’s campaigns. This particular volume, the fifteenth in the manga series, continues the narrative arc following the protagonist Shizu as she navigates the complexities of the sixteenth-century Japanese landscape.

The series is celebrated for its grounded approach to historical fiction, prioritizing economic and agrarian development over typical conflict tropes. The artistic direction by Warau Yakkai focuses on clear, character-driven panels that emphasize the contrast between modern efficiency and feudal tradition. Upon its release, the manga was well-received by fans of the historical-fantasy genre for its meticulous attention to agricultural detail and its unique perspective on a widely depicted era of Japanese history.
