Shàngbān Zújīn Tàiláng #6

Shàngbān Zújīn Tàiláng, known internationally as Salaryman Kintaro, was created by Hiroshi Motomiya and serialized in Weekly Young Jump beginning in 1994. The series emerged during a period of economic shift in Japan, utilizing the archetype of a former motorcycle gang leader who enters the corporate world to satirize and explore the rigid structures of traditional salaryman culture. Issue 6 represents a segment of Kintaro's ongoing tenure at the Yamato Construction Company, where his unconventional methods frequently clash with the bureaucracy of his superiors.

Motomiya’s visual approach favors bold, cinematic lines that emphasize the protagonist's kinetic energy and raw honesty in contrast to the muted, repetitive nature of his office environment. The series was well-received for its blend of social commentary and underdog heroism, effectively turning the mundane office drama into a high-stakes arena. This specific issue continues the narrative arc of Kintaro navigating industry politics, a theme that solidified the series as a significant work in the seinen manga demographic.
