Shin Ekiben Hitoritabi: Tori Tetsu Nana-Hen #3

Shin Ekiben Hitoritabi: Tori Tetsu Nana-Hen is a continuation of the long-running manga series centered on ekiben, the regional Japanese bento boxes sold at train stations. This specific series follows the protagonist Daisuke Nakahara as he explores rail culture and local cuisine, with the third issue deepening the narrative focus on the intersection of train photography, known as tori-tetsu, and the culinary experiences unique to regional train lines.

The series is authored by Hayase Jun, a creator well-regarded for his meticulous research into Japanese railway history and regional food culture. The design and visual style prioritize an authentic, slice-of-life approach, aiming to evoke the atmosphere of travel and the specific sensory experience of dining while watching the scenery pass by. It has been received as a niche but respected contribution to the gourmet manga genre, appealing to those with an interest in travelogue-style storytelling.
