Sorcerer Supreme #7

Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme #7 was published by Marvel Comics in 1989 as part of a series that revitalized the character under the creative guidance of writers Roy and Dann Thomas and artist Jackson Guice. The series aimed to ground Stephen Strange in a modern narrative context while exploring the complex, often dark intersection of high-stakes sorcery and contemporary human issues, reflecting the late eighties trend of deconstructing established comic icons.

The issue features artwork by Jackson Guice, whose clean, dynamic lines helped define the visual tone of the late eighties Strange era. The creative team sought to emphasize the character's role as a protector against eldritch threats, balancing elaborate mystical sequences with character-driven drama. Upon release, the series was well-received by readers for maintaining the legacy of the Sorcerer Supreme while adapting to the darker, more atmospheric tone prevalent in the comics industry at the time.
