Soulsearchers and Company #14

Soulsearchers and Company was a long-running independent comic book series created, written, and illustrated by Peter David and various collaborators, first launching in 1993 under the Claypool Comics imprint. The series was designed as a lighthearted, supernatural satire, following a group of ghost hunters who often found themselves in absurd or humorous paranormal situations. It was noted for its comedic tone and its tendency to play with established fantasy tropes, distinguishing itself from the darker, more serious horror comics prevalent in the independent market at the time.

Issue number 14, released in the mid-1990s, fits into the broader narrative arc where the team balances their ragtag business ventures with increasingly bizarre mystical threats. The art style, maintained throughout the series, leaned into a clean, cartoony aesthetic that matched the dialogue-heavy, humorous writing of Peter David. Like other issues in this run, it maintains a cult following among readers of 90s alternative comics who appreciate its meta-humor and refusal to take the genre too seriously.
