Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Echoes of the Empire #5

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Echoes of the Empire #5 was published in 2019 by Marvel Comics as the conclusion to a limited series designed to tie into the launch of the immersive themed lands at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park. The series explores the backstory of Dok-Ondar, the enigmatic Ithorian proprietor of the Den of Antiquities, weaving together tales of the artifacts that populate his shop. It was written by Ethan Sacks and features internal art by Will Sliney, who sought to capture the atmosphere of the Black Spire Outpost while bridging the gap between the various eras of Star Wars lore.

The series was conceived as a narrative companion to the park experience, providing a deeper literary context for the items guests could encounter while physically visiting the attraction. By framing the stories as memories associated with specific relics, the creative team aimed to give the physical space a sense of history and lived-in continuity. Upon release, the series was received as a functional expansion of the park's world-building, noted for its ability to weave disparate threads of Star Wars mythology into the specific locale of Batuu.
