Strange Adventures #21

Strange Adventures number 21 was published by DC Comics in June 1952 during the early years of the company's expansion into science fiction and space-themed storytelling. At this time, DC was moving away from the dominance of superheroes following the post-war decline, turning toward space exploration narratives that mirrored the growing public interest in rocket science and the unknown frontier of the cosmos.

The issue features cover art and interior work characteristic of the era's house style, emphasizing high-contrast visuals and pulpy, imaginative scenarios designed to capture the attention of a young, newsstand-focused audience. While the anthology format of Strange Adventures relied on a rotating cast of creators rather than single auteurs, the series gained a reputation for solid, accessible genre fiction that eventually paved the way for more sophisticated sci-fi titles within the DC stable.
