Super Friends #11

Super Friends #11, published by DC Comics in August 1978, was part of a long-running series inspired by the popular Saturday morning animated program of the same name. The series was designed to provide younger readers with accessible, self-contained adventures featuring the Justice League of America, often emphasizing teamwork and morality to align with the television show's tone. This particular issue remains notable for its inclusion of an original story featuring the core roster during the era of E. Nelson Bridwell’s stewardship of the title.

The interior art for this issue was provided by Ramona Fradon, a pioneering artist whose clean, classic style was well-suited for the bright, straightforward storytelling mandated by the series. Fradon’s work on the Super Friends franchise is often lauded by collectors for its narrative clarity and her ability to handle large ensembles of characters with consistent characterization. Upon its release, the issue was received as a standard installment of a kid-focused spin-off, yet it has since gained appreciation among Silver and Bronze Age enthusiasts for Fradon’s enduring contributions to DC's character roster.
