Superman #415

Superman issue 415 was published by DC Comics in early 1986, representing a significant moment in the closing chapters of the Silver and Bronze Age continuity. Written by Elliot S. Maggin with cover art by Jerry Ordway, this issue arrived just months before the landmark 'Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?' storyline, which served to transition the character into the post-Crisis on Infinite Earths era. The narrative focus during this period often centered on refining the mythos of Metropolis and reinforcing the psychological depth of Clark Kent.

The visual direction for this period was heavily influenced by the transition toward more modern, polished layouts, with artists like Ordway helping to bridge the gap between classic depictions and the grit of the late eighties. The issue was received as a standard but solid entry in the long-running series, prized today by collectors primarily for its place in the final sequence of the original Superman volume before the character’s high-profile reboot under John Byrne.
