Tattoo Hearts: Cìqīng zhī Xīn #2

Tattoo Hearts: Cìqīng zhī Xīn is a visual series that explores the intersection of traditional ink motifs and contemporary narrative art. Issue number two continues the thematic investigation established in the debut, focusing on the cultural symbolism associated with body art in modern Asian contexts. The series was created to bridge the gap between fine art photography and the subculture of tattooing, documenting the intricate relationship between the skin as a canvas and the personal histories of its subjects.

The aesthetic direction for the second installment leans into high-contrast portraiture, emphasizing the line work and color saturation of the featured tattoos. The editorial approach aimed to move away from purely sensational imagery, opting instead for a more grounded, biographical presentation of each subject's ink. Upon release, the issue was noted by design enthusiasts for its minimalist layout, which allows the complexity of the featured tattoo art to remain the primary focal point for the reader.
