Provenance

Where it came from

Published in August 1992, The Amazing Spider-Man #365 served as the 30th-anniversary commemorative issue for the character. Released during a period of high speculation in the comics industry, the book was notably produced with a high-gloss, embossed holofoil cover designed by Mark Bagley. This celebratory edition was intended to highlight Spider-Man's legacy, featuring a multi-part story arc that helped navigate the complex continuity of the era.

The issue features artwork by Mark Bagley, a quintessential artist for the title throughout the 1990s, who brought a dynamic, kinetic style that defined the look of the character for a generation. While the issue was largely marketed to collectors as a milestone anniversary product, it is perhaps best remembered today for its inclusion of a prologue to the long-running 'Maximum Carnage' storyline, which had a significant impact on the narrative trajectory of the Spider-Man franchise.
