The Amazing Spider-Man #362

The Amazing Spider-Man #362, published in May 1992, represents a pivotal moment in the 'Carnage' narrative arc within the Marvel Universe. Written by David Michelinie with cover and interior art by Mark Bagley, the issue continues the harrowing confrontation between Spider-Man and the psychopathic symbiote Carnage. This period of the series was characterized by the high-octane, visceral storytelling that defined 1990s comics, leaning heavily into the popular darker tone that saw the emergence of various new symbiote characters.

Mark Bagley's iconic pencils for this era are frequently cited by collectors for their kinetic energy and anatomical fluidity, which perfectly captured the chaotic nature of the villain. The issue's design intent was to escalate the stakes for Peter Parker, pushing him to seek an uneasy alliance with Venom to combat a threat he could not handle alone. It remains a notable entry for fans of the Spider-Man mythos, standing as a testament to the creative synergy between Michelinie and Bagley during one of the character's most commercially successful decades.
