The Amazing Spider-Man #429

The Amazing Spider-Man #429 was published in November 1997 as part of the long-running core series featuring Marvel Comics' flagship wall-crawler. This issue arrived during a period of transition for the title, occurring shortly after the contentious 'Clone Saga' had concluded. The narrative team, led by writer Tom DeFalco and artist Joe Bennett, focused on grounding Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson amidst the ongoing psychological fallout of the previous story arcs while maintaining the classic superhero action expected of the era.

The cover art and interior illustrations reflect the house style of late-90s Marvel, characterized by dynamic, slightly angular anatomy and highly detailed linework. This specific issue is noted for its role in the 'Spider-Hunt' storyline, where Peter Parker was framed for murder and forced to adopt new identities to clear his name. It remains a representative artifact of the late 90s editorial direction, which sought to balance complex, soap-opera-style character development with the high-stakes vigilante adventures that defined the character's publication history.
