The Complete Crepax: Erotic Stories, Part I #1

The Complete Crepax: Erotic Stories, Part I serves as a vital archival collection of the work of Guido Crepax, the influential Italian comics artist renowned for his sophisticated, avant-garde style. Published as part of an effort to preserve his complex, often surreal narrative experiments, this volume highlights his most famous creation, Valentina, whose stories moved away from traditional sequential art toward a fragmented, cinematic visual language that drew heavily from pop art and fashion photography.

Crepax illustrated his stories with a meticulous, sharp-edged line work that broke conventions of page layout, often overlapping panels to create a sense of flowing, dreamlike interiority. First appearing in Italian magazines during the 1960s, these stories were celebrated for their psychological depth and stylized eroticism. This collection aims to provide contemporary readers with a definitive look at the era when Crepax redefined the visual possibilities of the graphic medium.
