The Demon #37

The Demon number 37 was published by DC Comics in 1994 as part of the series' third volume, which relaunched the character Etrigan the Demon in the early 1990s. This issue falls within a period where the character was frequently reinterpreted to fit the darker, edgier tone of the era's supernatural comics. It reflects the collaborative efforts of the creative teams tasked with balancing the character’s Arthurian origins with the gritty aesthetics typical of 90s superhero storytelling.

The series often featured a rotating cast of creators who aimed to maintain the character's signature rhyming dialogue while navigating complex, occult-themed plot lines. The visual design for this era focused on heavy inks and expressive, sometimes grotesque character work to emphasize Etrigan's demonic nature. Although this specific issue represents a smaller part of a larger ongoing narrative, it is recognized by collectors as a mid-run entry that exemplifies the editorial direction of the DC Vertigo-adjacent titles of the time.
