The Joker #9

The Joker #9 was published by DC Comics in 1976 as part of a short-lived solo series that explored the Clown Prince of Crime as a protagonist. During this era, DC experimented with giving their prominent villains their own titles, a move that challenged the Comics Code Authority's restrictions on portraying criminal characters in a sympathetic or leading light. This particular issue, released during a period of transition for the character, leaned heavily into the campy, chaotic tone that defined the mid-1970s interpretation of the Joker.

The issue features cover art and interior work consistent with the DC house style of the Bronze Age.
