The Saga of Tanya the Evil #28

The Saga of Tanya the Evil, known in Japan as Yōjo Senki, originated as a web novel by Carlo Zen before being adapted into a light novel series and subsequently a manga adaptation illustrated by Chika Tōjō. The manga version began serialization in Comp Ace magazine in 2016, aiming to bring Zen’s intricate military strategy and dark fantasy elements to life through Tōjō’s detailed and intense character designs, which emphasize the stark contrast between the protagonist’s young appearance and her ruthless command.

Issue #28 of the manga continues the adaptation of the overarching narrative, focusing on the tactical maneuvers and philosophical conflicts inherent in the series. The work is noted for its departure from traditional isekai tropes, instead grounding its premise in alternate-history warfare. It has been received as a compelling exploration of bureaucracy and morality, with Tōjō’s illustrations praised for their ability to maintain the series' grim atmosphere while effectively conveying the scale of its large-scale combat sequences.
