The Uncanny X-Men #393

The Uncanny X-Men #393 was published in 2001 as part of a significant transitional period for the X-Men franchise. Written by Scott Lobdell with interior art by Salvador Larroca, this issue follows the team during the aftermath of the Dream's End crossover, which saw the mutant population facing heightened global hostility and political instability. The narrative focuses on the X-Men attempting to regroup while dealing with internal strife and the ever-shifting landscape of human-mutant relations.

The visual design of this era reflects the transition into the early 2000s, characterized by Larroca’s clean, expressive line work and the influence of modern comic aesthetics. The creative team aimed to maintain the high stakes that defined the late-90s X-Men stories while steering the characters toward the more grounded, character-focused direction that would soon follow under subsequent writers. The issue was received as a standard entry in a long-running series, serving as a bridge between the tumultuous major event storylines and the next chapter of the team’s development.
