Tintins äventyr #S2

Tintins äventyr #S2, also known as 'Den svarta ön' (The Black Island) within the Swedish-language S-series published by Bonniers Juniorförlag in the late 1970s, represents a significant period in the international expansion of Hergé's work. Following the earlier publishing attempts in Sweden during the 1960s, this S-series was curated to bring Hergé's definitive albums to a new generation of Nordic readers, maintaining the meticulous line work and vibrant color palettes consistent with the Casterman editions in Belgium.

The album itself originated from Hergé's original 1938 serial, which was later extensively redrawn and recolored in 1943, and again revised in 1966 to improve historical accuracy and visual consistency. This specific S-series edition serves as a classic example of European mid-century graphic storytelling, prized by collectors for its role in cementing the Tintin franchise as a pillar of Scandinavian comic culture during the twentieth century.
