Tom & Jerry Comics #183

Tom & Jerry Comics #183 was published by Dell Comics in 1959, serving as part of a long-running series that adapted the iconic Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer animated shorts into print. During the mid-20th century, Dell held the license for many popular animation properties, producing these comics primarily for a youthful audience to expand the reach of the cat-and-mouse franchise beyond the silver screen.

The interior art was characterized by the house style typical of the Dell-Western Publishing collaboration, focusing on slapstick visual gags that mirrored the pacing of the original cartoons. These issues were often produced by anonymous teams of writers and illustrators under the editorial direction of the publisher, emphasizing accessible, lighthearted storytelling that became a staple of American newsstand comic culture during the late 1950s.
