Travis #17

Travis is a French science fiction comic book series created by writer Fred Duval and artist Christophe Quet, first published by Delcourt in 1997. The series is set in a future where Earth is governed by the international organization Nomads, focusing on the titular character, Travis Chase, an operative navigating a world defined by environmental collapse, political corruption, and high-tech intrigue. Issue 17 serves as part of the broader narrative arc that defines this long-running space opera, continuing the detailed, cinematic visual style that Quet established early in the series.

The aesthetic of the Travis series is rooted in the tradition of Franco-Belgian science fiction, drawing inspiration from cyberpunk themes and political thrillers. The artwork is noted for its meticulous attention to industrial design and environmental world-building, which was intended to ground the futuristic stakes in a gritty, believable reality. Like other entries in the series, issue 17 was designed to balance rapid-fire narrative beats with the sprawling, expansive scope expected of the genre, contributing to the series' status as a mainstay in European comics for over two decades.
