Tsuma, Shōgakusei ni Naru. #12

Tsuma, Shōgakusei ni Naru. (If My Wife Becomes an Elementary School Student) is a manga series written and illustrated by Yūya Murata, which began serialization in the seinen magazine Weekly Manga Times in 2018. The story explores themes of grief and reincarnation, following a man who, after losing his wife ten years prior, is visited by a young elementary school girl claiming to be his late spouse reborn. The series gained significant cultural traction for its poignant blend of domestic drama and fantastical elements, eventually being adapted into a live-action television drama in 2022.

Volume 12 serves as a late-stage installment in the series, continuing the narrative progression of Keisuke and the reincarnated Marika. Murata’s artistic style is characterized by expressive character designs and a sentimental tone that emphasizes the internal emotional struggles of the protagonists. The volume maintains the consistent visual identity of the series, which has been widely praised by readers for its empathetic handling of loss and its ability to balance the inherent awkwardness of its premise with genuine character growth.
