Tsuruko wa Mada Yonjūgo Dakara! #2

Tsuruko wa Mada Yonjūgo Dakara!, which translates to 'Tsuruko is Still Only Forty-Five!', is a seinen manga series created by artist and author Keiko Suenobu. The series, serialized in Japanese publications during the early 2000s, explores the societal pressures and personal identity struggles faced by a middle-aged protagonist. Issue number 2 continues the narrative arc established in the debut, focusing on the character's internal monologue and her interactions within a contemporary urban environment.

The design and artistic direction of the series lean into the emotive, expressive character study common in Suenobu's work, prioritizing psychological depth over traditional action tropes. Upon its release, the series was noted for its nuanced portrayal of adult life, receiving moderate critical acclaim for its mature themes and the author's ability to maintain a consistent, melancholic tone across the volume chapters.
