Turok, Dinosaur Hunter #21

Turok, Dinosaur Hunter #21 was published by Valiant Comics in 1995 as part of the publisher's expansive shared universe. The series reimagined the classic Gold Key character for a modern audience, emphasizing a gritty, cinematic aesthetic that was hallmark to the 1990s comic book industry. The narrative continued to explore the protagonist's struggle for survival against prehistoric threats in the Lost Land, a dimension where time and space converge.

The visual direction of this era was heavily influenced by the house style of Valiant, which prioritized detailed anatomy and high-energy panel layouts. By the time this issue was released, the character had become a flagship property for the company, further bolstered by the burgeoning success of his video game adaptations. Critical reception during this period largely praised the title for its consistent art quality and its ability to blend pulp-adventure roots with contemporary storytelling sensibilities.
