Twisted Tales of Bruce Jones #4

Twisted Tales of Bruce Jones was launched in 1982 by Pacific Comics, a pioneering independent publisher known for granting creators significant rights and creative freedom. The series functioned as a horror-anthology showcase for writer Bruce Jones, who crafted dark, suspenseful narratives that often featured ironic twists, drawing inspiration from the tone of classic EC Comics publications like Tales from the Crypt.

The fourth issue, like its predecessors, leaned into the mature and often grim sensibilities prevalent in early 1980s independent horror comics. Jones collaborated with various artists for these shorts, focusing on psychological tension and atmospheric storytelling rather than traditional superhero tropes. While the series did not reach mass-market ubiquity, it is regarded by collectors as a significant example of the creator-owned movement that challenged the established industry standards of the time.
