Uma Musume: Pretty Derby - Uma Musumeshi #5

Uma Musumeshi is a specialized culinary publication derived from the Uma Musume: Pretty Derby multimedia franchise, which centers on anthropomorphized racehorses. Produced by Cygames, the series serves as a companion piece to the popular mobile game and anime, focusing on the specific nutritional and dietary habits of the characters. These issues were conceptualized to deepen the connection between fans and the franchise by translating the in-game world-building into tangible, real-world culinary projects.

The editorial design of issue number 5 maintains the bright, polished aesthetic synonymous with the franchise's visual identity. It features meticulously crafted recipes inspired by the fictional training academy's kitchen, often highlighting dishes associated with specific characters to reinforce their personality traits. Upon release, the publication was received primarily by the existing enthusiast base as a high-quality collectible, valued for its ability to bridge the gap between virtual racehorse care and authentic Japanese cooking.
