Usagi Yojimbo #92

Usagi Yojimbo issue #92, published in 2006 by Dark Horse Comics, is part of the long-running epic created by Stan Sakai. The series follows Miyamoto Usagi, a masterless samurai rabbit in Edo-period Japan. Sakai, a Japanese-American artist and calligrapher, drew inspiration from the films of Akira Kurosawa and the classic manga Lone Wolf and Cub to blend historical research with anthropomorphic storytelling.

The issue fits into the mid-2000s era of the series, which was celebrated for its consistent visual style and deep commitment to historical accuracy regarding Japanese lore and martial arts. Sakai remains the sole writer and illustrator for the majority of the title's run, emphasizing clear, kinetic panel layouts and a distinct ink-wash aesthetic. The series has garnered critical acclaim over decades for its accessible narrative style and its ability to bridge the gap between western comic traditions and eastern philosophical themes.
