Uso-Bitch Senpai #1

Uso-Bitch Senpai #1 is the inaugural volume of a manga series written and illustrated by the artist known as Ogeretsu Tanaka. Released within the landscape of modern boys' love manga, the series emerged from a tradition of character-driven storytelling that blends stylized aesthetic choices with complex, often emotionally volatile interpersonal dynamics. It gained traction in the mid-2010s as part of a wider wave of titles that leaned into unapologetic, hyperbolic tropes to explore the vulnerability and social posturing of its youthful cast.

The design and tone of the work are hallmarks of Tanaka's distinct visual vocabulary, characterized by sharp linework and an emphasis on expressive, moody character portraiture. The series was created to push the boundaries of conventional romantic narratives, opting for a dark, comedic, and sometimes cynical take on the 'senpai-kohai' dynamic. Upon its debut, the series was received as a polarizing but influential entry in its genre, finding a dedicated audience that appreciated its departure from softer, idealized portrayals of romance.
