Valkyrie Apocalypse #23

Valkyrie Apocalypse, known in Japan as Record of Ragnarok, is a monthly seinen manga series written by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui, with illustrations by Ajichika. First serialized in Comic Zenon in 2017, the series explores a grand tournament where thirteen gods and thirteen humans face off to determine the fate of humanity. The aesthetic relies heavily on high-contrast, kinetic character designs that emphasize the distinct personalities and legendary status of the combatants.

Issue #23 is part of the ongoing narrative that pushes the tournament toward its climax. As the series expanded into a global franchise including an anime adaptation, the physical volumes and individual issues became sought after for their intricate battle choreography and dramatic interplay between mythological figures. The series has been widely praised for its ability to reinterpret historical and mythological tropes, grounding the fantastical premise in the internal growth of its diverse cast of warriors.
