Vampire #1

Vampire #1 was published in 1973 by Warren Publishing as part of their venture into standalone, black-and-white horror magazines. This title emerged during a period when the company was expanding its reach beyond its foundational titles, Creepy and Eerie, aiming to capitalize on the public's growing fascination with gothic horror and supernatural narratives in the early 1970s.

The magazine featured a collaborative approach to storytelling, with various illustrators and writers contributing to its atmospheric aesthetic. The design leaned into the stark, high-contrast visual style characteristic of Warren's publications, utilizing detailed ink work to evoke a sense of dread. While it did not achieve the long-term cult longevity of its sister magazines, it remains a notable example of the era's experimental approach to dark fantasy anthologies.
