Vampirella Armageddon #12

Vampirella Armageddon #12 was published by Harris Comics during the 1990s, a period when the character experienced a significant resurgence in popularity through the Warren Publishing revival. This issue served as a concluding chapter in the Armageddon storyline, a sprawling narrative arc designed to pit the iconic vampiress against escalating apocalyptic stakes. The series was rooted in the pulp horror tradition established in the 1960s, modernized for the edgy, high-contrast aesthetic favored by the contemporary independent comic market.

The creative direction for this era focused on heavy stylized linework and dark, atmospheric themes, often utilizing a rotating roster of artists to maintain a relentless, high-octane pace. While Vampirella was originally created by Forrest J. Ackerman and Trina Robbins, the Armageddon run relied on a team of contributors who prioritized dramatic visual flair to match the character's transition into more complex, long-form science fiction and horror sagas. The issue was received by the direct-market comic audience of the time as a definitive climax to a volatile period in the franchise’s history.
