Watashi no Fiancé wo Ubatta Danshaku Reijou ga Naze ka Natsuite Kimasu - Uruwashi no Reijou ♂ no Hakarigoto #1

This manga series, written by Ouka and illustrated by Yui Hino, emerged from the popular Japanese web novel landscape, specifically serialized via platforms that highlight the burgeoning subgenre of gender-bending and romantic comedy within fantasy settings. It follows the narrative of a noblewoman whose fiancé is stolen by a rival, only for that rival—who is secretly a man—to begin pursuing an unexpected and complex relationship with her.

The character designs and visual storytelling reflect the aesthetic sensibilities of modern shoujo and josei-adjacent manga, prioritizing intricate period-inspired attire and expressive, dramatic character interactions. Since its serialization, the work has been received by readers as a lighthearted exploration of social maneuvering and identity, fitting into the wider trend of light-novel adaptations that balance traditional aristocratic tropes with humorous, subversive romantic dynamics.
