Where it came from
Web of Spider-Man #7 was published in September 1985 as part of an ongoing series launched the previous year to complement the existing Spider-Man titles. The series was designed to provide additional stories that could delve into more specific character arcs or thematic experiments, maintaining the serialized momentum of the wall-crawler's adventures during a mid-eighties transition in Marvel's creative direction.
This specific issue features the work of writer Danny Fingeroth and artist Jim Mooney. The creative team aimed to balance the domestic troubles of Peter Parker with the high-stakes action expected of the franchise. It was received as a standard but solid entry in the series, typical of the era's house style, and remains a nostalgic piece for collectors focusing on the mid-eighties expansion of the Spider-Man comic library.
