Web of Spider-Man #6

Published in September 1985, Web of Spider-Man #6 stands as a notable entry in the early run of the series, which was designed to replace Marvel Team-Up as the third monthly Spider-Man title. The issue was written by Danny Fingeroth, who served as a long-time editor and writer for the franchise, and it features cover and interior art by Greg LaRocque. The creative team aimed to maintain the grounded, urban tone that defined the character’s narratives during the mid-1980s, focusing on the intersection of Peter Parker’s personal struggles and his superhero responsibilities.

The story within this issue is part of the broader narrative tapestry of the era, exploring the complex social and psychological pressures placed upon the protagonist. LaRocque’s illustrative style, which was characterized by clean lines and expressive character work, helped solidify the aesthetic of the Web of Spider-Man run. While the series as a whole served to expand the volume of Spider-Man content available to readers, this specific issue is remembered for its adherence to the traditional tropes of the comic book genre and its contribution to the ongoing character development of the mid-1980s Marvel universe.
