Where it came from
Wizard Ace Edition #19 was produced by Wizard Entertainment during the peak of the comic book speculative boom in the 1990s. These issues served as promotional collectibles that accompanied the publisher's widely circulated industry magazine, Wizard: The Guide to Comics, designed to entice readers and provide a unique entry point into the vibrant independent comic scene of that era.
The publication was notable for its distinct, condensed format which often highlighted rising talents and popular characters of the time. These editions were intended to act as both a functional catalog for collectors and a curated sample of sequential art, reflecting the aesthetic sensibilities of the mid-nineties comic market and the editorial direction of Wizard's staff as they navigated the shifting trends of the industry.
