Wonder Woman #34

Wonder Woman number 34 was published in March 1949 during the Golden Age of comic books. At this stage in the character's publication history, William Moulton Marston's original vision for the Amazon princess was still being refined by his successors following his death in 1947. This issue continues the series' established tradition of blending mythological motifs with the mid-century adventure tropes that defined DC Comics' output during the post-war era.

The cover and interior artwork for this period were primarily produced by H.G. Peter, whose distinctive, clean-lined style became synonymous with the title's early visual identity. Peter’s work was noted for its decorative aesthetic and expressive characterizations, which provided a stark contrast to the more realistic illustrative styles gaining popularity in other genres at the time. The issue is widely regarded by collectors as a representative example of Peter's enduring contribution to the Wonder Woman mythos.
