Wonder Woman #35

Wonder Woman #35 was published in 1949 during the Golden Age of comics, a period defined by the enduring collaboration between creator William Moulton Marston and artist H.G. Peter. This issue emerged at a time when the character had firmly established herself as a cornerstone of DC Comics, reflecting the whimsical, mythological, and occasionally didactic storytelling style that characterized Peter's distinct visual approach to the Amazonian princess.

The art of H.G. Peter remains one of the most recognizable elements of early Wonder Woman history, noted for its somewhat archaic, illustrative quality that diverged sharply from the more conventional superhero styles of the era. By this stage in the series, the character’s narrative formula was well-cemented, focusing on themes of empowerment and justice that were often presented through a lens of Greek mythology and fantastical invention, securing the issue's place as a representative artifact of mid-century American comic book production.
